Cazorla Vows To Improve And Lead Arsenal To Trophies

Santiago Cazorla could be forgiven for being very pleased with his first season as an Arsenal player. Being voted by the fans as the Player of the Year could make you think that you had arrived and were comfortable at your new club, but that’s not the way the Spanish international works.

He is understandably pleased with how the fans took to him straight away, and how well he settled into the Arsenal team. The Gunners way of playing under Wenger suits him perfectly, but he has also had to work hard to get used to the Premier League and he will continue to do so, promising that he will be even better next season.
He said, “I’m really happy about it(the award), especially as it was my first season in England and it was very positive.
“From day one I have noticed a lot of kindness from them, from the people, the club, from everyone at Arsenal. It was something that really surprised me when I first arrived.
“Nextseason I will try to perform as well as I have done this season, but also improve. I will be even more at ease, knowing my team mates and enjoying the manager’s confidence, and I will be more use to the team.
“During the last few games the team played very well. That is what we have to aim for next season, we need to be more consistent.”
The 28-year old Spaniard was directly involved in 26 Premier League goals through scoring or assisting, so he has got a lot to do to improve on that, but you wouldn’t bet against him. He had his most productive season in La Liga in his first year at Malaga, and he improved on that again at the Emirates, so he seems to be really hitting his peak.
Assuming that Jack Wilshere will be fit to start next season, that Giroud will not have the slow start he did this time, that Walcott will continue his progression, Podolski will be ready for the pace and Oxlade-Chamberlain will rediscover his club form, it almost seems unfair to our rivals if we go and buy some world class players this summer.
