The season ended with a 1-nil win over Newcastle, taking the total number of goals scored by Arsenal in the Premier League in the 2012/2013 season to 77.
14 of those was scored by Walcott a winger, 12 scored by our Player Of The Season, Santi Carzola, a midfielder, And the overall highest goal scorer for Arsenal last season was Walcott with 22 goals. This calls to question what happened to Arsenal's strikers.
At the beginning of the season Wenger brought in Giroud, a relatively unknown player from the French Ligue 1. Everybody's eyes were on him. The other variety we had in the strike force was Podolski but surprisingly Wenger decided to play him on the wing. This led Arsenal to yet another season without a trophy!
To end this trophy drought, Wenger knows he needs a quick fix in the strikers department because defensively we are okay (not the best) We have conceded only 37 goals this season. So its quite obvious that he needs to look at adding a prominent striker to the strike force, Higuain, Jovetic and Rooney all linked to Arsenal. Arsenal needs a Striker!
